Saudi Arabia opened the Future Investment Initiative (FII), known as “Davos in the Desert,” gathering world leaders and business elites to boost investment in its gigaprojects and AI ambitions.

The ninth FII edition features 20 heads of state, including China’s Vice President Han Zheng, as the kingdom pushes to diversify beyond oil.

PIF Governor Yasir Al-Rumayyan revealed foreign investment rose 24% to $31.7 billion in 2024.

While projects like NEOM face delays and redesigns, experts say investor confidence remains strong amid Saudi Arabia’s shifting spending priorities.
