The UAE has officially renamed its National Day as Eid Al Etihad, meaning “Celebration of the Union,” marking the unification of the seven emirates on December 2, 1971. The change emphasizes national unity, shared heritage, and Emirati cultural values, reinforcing the spirit of togetherness and pride.

Eid Al Etihad highlights inclusivity and participation, with creative initiatives, merchandise, and cultural programmes across the seven emirates. The celebrations blend tradition with modernity, inspiring younger generations to uphold the nation’s legacy while embracing progress and innovation.
