Etihad Rail has achieved a major milestone by completing the UAE’s first-ever rail shipment of passenger vehicles, marking a shift in automotive logistics.

In partnership with Al Masaood Automobiles, Nissan cars were transported from eastern ports to Industrial City of Abu Dhabi using the national rail network.

The move highlights growing integration of rail into high-value supply chains, improving efficiency, reducing road congestion, and supporting sustainability goals.

Officials said the development enhances reliability and scalability in logistics while aligning with the UAE’s Net Zero 2050 vision and expanding the role of rail freight across industries.
