I am writing to apply for the Finance position. I have over 14 years of experience in accounting and finance, supported by an MBA in Finance and a CMA qualification. Throughout my career, I have worked in multinational organizations, with experience in the education, hospitality, and food & beverage sectors.
For the past several years, I have been working with the British Council, managing finance activities across multiple countries, with a strong focus on Accounts Payable (AP) operations. My responsibilities include processing and reviewing supplier invoices, payment processing, vendor reconciliations, account reconciliations, journal entries, month-end closing, financial reporting, and ensuring timely and accurate payments. I also support compliance with IFRS requirements and internal controls, as well as internal and external audits. I have extensive experience working with SAP and Microsoft Excel to maintain accurate financial records, resolve discrepancies, and ensure efficient AP processes and reporting.
Before that, I worked with SCAFA, a culinary school in Dubai, where I was responsible for managing student receivables, fee collections, bank reconciliations, invoicing, financial reporting, and supporting the day-to-day finance operations. Working in an education environment gave me a good understanding of the financial processes that support students, academic operations, and management reporting. It also helped me develop strong customer service and communication skills while working closely with different departments.
I enjoy improving processes, solving day-to-day finance issues, and making sure financial records are accurate and up to date. I am comfortable working with ERP systems, have strong Excel skills, and always try to support the business by providing timely and reliable financial information.
