“Are you available to join immediately?”

Candidate : Yes, I can join from tomorrow.

Interviews completed. Follow-ups sent. Emails written.

    No response.

Days pass. Weeks pass. Sometimes, months.

The candidate remains “on hold” — with no clarity, no closure, no timeline.

    Then come the familiar explanations:
    • The decision-maker is travelling.
    • The role is suddenly on hold.
    • We are still interviewing more candidates.

An “urgent role” quietly becomes an endless process.

    Meanwhile, inside the candidate’s mind:
    · Was I selected?
    · Did I say something wrong?
    · Was being available immediately seen as desperation?
    · Did the role even exist?

What is rarely acknowledged is the human side of recruitment.

Behind every 15-30 minute interview is preparation, expectation, and hope.

    Careers are paused.
    Other opportunities are declined.
    Lives are put on standby.

Silence is not neutral — it has consequences.

A simple update, even a rejection, preserves trust, dignity, and employer brand.

This is not about criticism — it is about improving a system that affects real lives.

If hiring is urgent, communication must be too.

Can we start normalising closure in recruitment?

Posting the same job over and over…Interviewing candidates…And then ghosting the people they claim they need.

It’s wild how many talented people spend hours preparing, applying, interviewing, all for roles that apparently aren’t going anywhere.

If the role is paused, say it. If budgets changed, say it. If you found someone, say it.

Ghosting is not a hiring strategy. Transparency is.  less

Companies need to realize they’re overcomplicating the process. No one wants to spend 30 minutes filling out forms to repeat information that’s already on their resume.

Adding unnecessary steps only wastes time and shows a lack of efficiency.

Want to filter out unsuitable candidates? Just read the CV they sent you!

Making the process harder doesn’t bring in better candidates; it just turns people away.  less

    Advice for job seekers:

The minute you're called for a job interview, forget your lack of qualifications or experience or the competition.

They didn't shortlist you by accident. Something in your profile stood out - potential, mindset, or a spark they couldn't ignore.

    So stop doubting yourself.

Walk into that room like you belong there. Because you do.

Confidence isn't arrogance it's clarity. And that alone can set you apart.

    INTERVIEW WINNING FORMULA

God + Preparation + Confidence + Storytelling (Your Past Experience)

Winning interviews is not about chance—it’s about alignment.

✅ God anchors you in peace and favor. When you pray and commit the process to Him, fear reduces and clarity increases. You walk in knowing you are not alone.

✅ Preparation equips you. Research the role, understand the company, and align your skills to their needs. Preparation turns anxiety into readiness.

✅ Confidence carries you. Speak clearly, pause when needed, and own your value. You are not begging for a job—you are offering a solution.

✅ Storytelling brings it all together. Use your past experiences to show impact, not just responsibility. Share clear stories that highlight challenges, actions, and results so the interviewer can see your value.

    Quiet confidence builds lasting success.
Here’s what truly powerful people understand:

The most successful professionals don’t need to broadcast their strength, intelligence, wealth, or happiness.

They operate from a place of security rather than seeking external validation through loud displays or constant performance.

What genuine power looks like in your career:

    1️⃣ The strongest are gentle
↳ True strength shows up as calm under pressure, patience with others’ mistakes, and kindness even when you have the power to be harsh.

    2️⃣ The smartest are quiet
↳ Genuinely intelligent people listen more than they speak, ask questions instead of showing off knowledge, and let their ideas prove themselves.

    3️⃣ The wealthiest are simple
↳ People secure in their success don’t need luxury brands or expensive displays - they’re comfortable with understated choices and substance over flash.

    4️⃣ The happiest are private
↳ Authentic contentment doesn’t require public performance or social media validation - it exists independently of others’ awareness or approval.

5️⃣ Real power doesn’t need to prove itself
↳ When you’re genuinely capable, accomplished, or content, you don’t feel compelled to announce it constantly or seek recognition.

    6️⃣ Insecurity demands an audience
↳ The loudest people are often compensating for what they lack - real confidence is quiet because it has nothing to prove.

Professionals who constantly talk about how busy they are, how much they know, or how successful they’ve become are revealing insecurity, not strength.

The people who’ve truly made it don’t need to tell you. Their work, reputation, and impact speak for them without constant self-promotion.

Which of these qualities do you most admire in the professionals you respect?

    Thanks for reading!
