Walked past a small hardware shop in Nairobi today and the owner was using a mobile money API to track sales. No POS machine, no bank queue. Just a phone and some code. That is the Kenya tech ecosystem I know. #KenyaTech
Early in my career I thought working harder was the answer. It wasn't. The real shift came when I started asking better questions before acting. Clarity beats effort almost every time.
I think many job seekers in Kenya focus too much on big companies and forget the growing opportunities in SMEs and startups. These smaller teams often give you broader experience faster. What's your take?
I used to think providing meant bringing home the biggest paycheck. Then my daughter asked me to just sit and watch her draw. That afternoon taught me more about fatherhood than any overtime shift ever did. Presence is the provision they remember.
I once watched a small shop owner turn a slow Tuesday into a full week of sales by simply asking every customer what brought them in. That one question changed how he ordered stock. Business lessons are often that quiet.
Been seeing more families try 'no-phone Sundays' lately. We gave it a shot this weekend and ended up playing cards for two hours. My kids didn't even ask for their tablets once. Small win, but I'll take it.
I watched my neighbor carry two cups of tea to the porch every morning, one for her husband even after forty years. When I asked why, she said, "Because he still waits for me to sit first." Small habits carry big love.
Reading the news each morning reminds me how quickly the world shifts. Today's headline is tomorrow's history lesson, so I try to stay curious instead of reactive.

Here is a small tip I share with young developers: start with the feature that solves one real problem for one local user. Test it in the market, not just in a notebook. Build small, learn fast.

Sending a parcel to Canada from India can be simple when you know what affects the shipping price. Many people think courier charges depend only on the weight of the parcel, but that is not always the case.
Several details are checked before the final price is decided. Understanding these factors can help you choose the right service and plan your shipping budget.
What Affects Courier Charges to Canada?
The cost of an international shipment can depend on several things, such as:
Weight of the parcel
Size of the package
Pickup location in India
Delivery location in Canada
Type of items inside the parcel
Delivery service selected
Packaging requirements
Customs and shipment documents
Because of these factors, the cost can be different for every shipment.
Does Weight Change the Shipping Cost?
Yes, parcel weight is one of the most important factors.
For example:
A 1 kg shipment will usually have a different price from a 5 kg shipment.
Heavier parcels generally have higher shipping charges.
Courier companies may use different weight slabs.
The final weight is checked before the shipment is processed.
Before booking, it is useful to weigh your parcel as accurately as possible.
What Is Volumetric Weight?
Sometimes a parcel is light but takes up a lot of space. In such cases, the courier company may consider volumetric weight.
It is generally calculated using the dimensions of the package:
Length × Width × Height ÷ Applicable Divisor
The divisor can vary depending on the courier service.
This means you should check both:
Actual weight
Volumetric weight
The applicable chargeable weight can depend on the courier company's pricing rules.
Why Parcel Size Matters
The size of your box can affect the courier price, especially when the package is large.
For example:
A small, heavy box may be charged mainly by its actual weight.
A large box containing lightweight products may have a higher volumetric weight.
Extra packaging can increase the overall package size.
Using suitable packaging without unnecessary extra space can help keep the shipment practical.
Does the Destination in Canada Matter?
Yes. The Canadian delivery address can also affect the price.
Charges may vary based on:
City
Postal code
Residential address
Business address
Remote location
Special delivery requirements
A complete Canadian address helps the courier provider check the correct delivery zone and provide a more accurate quote.
What Are You Sending?
The type of product inside the parcel is another important factor.
You may want to send:
Clothes
Documents
Gifts
Personal belongings
Household items
Business samples
Commercial products
Other permitted goods
Different products may have different shipping and customs requirements.
Some items may also need additional documents before they can be shipped internationally.
How Do Customs Rules Affect Costs?
When you send a Courier from India to Canada, customs requirements should not be ignored.
Depending on the shipment, the receiver may have to pay certain government or import-related charges.
These can include:
Import duties
Taxes
Customs-related fees
Clearance charges, where applicable
The amount can depend on the product type, declared value and Canadian import rules.
It is important to provide accurate information about your parcel when booking.
Does Delivery Speed Change the Price?
Yes. The delivery option you select can affect the total cost.
Common options may include:
Standard international delivery
Express delivery
Priority delivery
If your shipment is urgent, you may select a faster service. If you have more time, a standard option may be suitable.
Before booking, compare the delivery time and price of the available services.
Why Choose Reliable International Courier Services?
Choosing Reliable International Courier Services can make the international shipping process easier.

Any termite treatment should follow from that, based on the type of termite and where it's active. One swarm isn't a diagnosis, but it isn't something to ignore either. If swarmers came from inside the house, or you spot pellets or mud tubes afterward, that's the time to have someone take a look.
