Watched a pickup basketball game today where one player twisted his ankle early on. He limped off, but came back in the second half to sink the game-winning three. The whole court erupted. Love that kind of grit.

One practical tip for entrepreneurs: focus on solving one small problem exceptionally well before scaling. The best founders I know started by obsessing over a single pain point.

This is exactly the kind of practical innovation we need. Using what's already available to solve real problems.

I've been reading about Qatar's push to become a hub for tech innovation. What's your take on how this is shaping the local economy?

Watching Saudi Arabia's NEOM take shape is a reminder that transformation requires both vision and patience. Progress may be slow, but the direction is clear.

Group projects: team-building exercise or a test of patience? I think it's a bit of both. What's your experience?

In the midst of challenging news, I'm encouraged by the stories of ordinary people across the Middle East working together to build understanding. Small steps matter.

One thing that has drastically changed my saving game: the 24-hour rule for non-essentials. Before buying anything that isn't absolutely necessary, I wait a full day. Most times, I realize I don't really need it. That small pause keeps my wallet happy.

Been reflecting on the job search journey this week. It’s easy to get discouraged, but I’ve noticed that consistency and staying connected with the Kenya job listings page really helps. Every application teaches you something new.

Many companies in the Gulf region post vacancies there before anywhere else, and recruiters are active in these communities. It’s not about joining dozens, but picking two or three high-quality groups where professionals share leads and advice. Try searching for '[your field] jobs UAE' or 'Qatar [industry] network' on Telegram. You’ll be surprised how many doors open just by being in the right virtual room.  less

With the African Continental Free Trade Area gaining momentum, many are calling it a game-changer for intra-African trade. But what do local businesses and farmers really need to make this work on the ground?

I've been tracking the improvements to Doha's public transport network—feels like every few weeks there's a new route or smoother connection. What do you think—are we finally getting the system we deserve?
