Job Description

Application deadline Spring internship: 30th September 

The duration of the internship is six months, starting 1st of February – Spring internship, or 1st of August – Fall internship.

Please note: Danish citizenship and a Bachelor degree, or fulfilling the following requirements is required: (1) The applicant has lived in Denmark for a longer period of time (at least 3-4 years), (2) is admitted at a Danish university or business school at Masters level, and (3) at the time of applying has residence in Denmark. It is a requirement for all applicants that the applicant has not already had an internship in the Foreign Service.

The Danish Embassy in Nairobi is the largest Danish embassy in Africa, and offers a vibrant, diverse and international working environment. An internship with us will allow you to grow and develop your skills within development, international relations, climate change, sustainability, human rights, trade and communication, and help you gain comprehensive professional experience that will be useful in your future career.There are continuously seven interns at the Danish Embassy in Nairobi working within the following teams: 

• The Somalia Country Programme and Resilience Team 

• The Somalia Politics, Stabilisation and Human Rights Team

• The Kenya Governance and Health Team

• The Business Team

• The Climate and Resilience Team

• The Results and Communications Team

• The Regional, Humanitarian and Refugee Team
