Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking for a professional and legal head of the pharmacy, responsible for ensuring safe, effective and compliant pharmaceutical services. The role ensures high standards of patient care, regulatory compliance and efficient pharmacy operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the legally recognized superintendent pharmacist for the pharmacy premises.
  • Ensure full compliance with Pharmacy &Poisons Board regulations.
  • Maintain valid pharmacy premises licenses and personal practicing licence.
  • Supervise dispensing of prescriptions to ensure accuracy, safety and ethical practice
  • Provide professional pharmaceutical advice to patients and healthcare staff.
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, dispensing and documentation of medicines, including controlled drugs and poisons.
  • Participate in CMEs, audits, and quality improvement activities
  • Oversee procurement, inventory management and stock control to prevent expires and stock-outs.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Pharmacy from recognized institutions.
  • Valid Practising licence from Pharmacy & Poisons Board
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience

Key Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of Kenyan pharmaceutical laws and PPB regulations.
  • Leadership and People-management skills.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity and ethical conduct.
  • Good organizational, record- keeping and reporting abilities.
  • Computer literacy (pharmacy systems, inventory tools).
