Job Description

Major Responsibilities:

  • Manage the company’s day-to-day statutory accounting and financial functions for Kenya (billing, collections, payables, cash management, payroll).
  • Manage the company’s management accounting function (inter-company transactions & financial reporting), and provide monthly reports to C-suite executives
  • Oversee the continuous improvement of accounting and financial processes with the goal to achieve best practices and optimal output.
  • Participate in developing and overseeing the financial policies and procedures and ensure compliance of the same.
  • Lead the Controls & Compliance function and put mitigating controls across the business.
  • Drive consistent financial rigor around sound P&L management while driving accountability across the business.
  • Monitor the Company’s key financial performance indicators based on approved forecasts; and regularly manage treasury/cash flow plan
  • Support the business in redeployment & investment decisions to fuel growth & profitability.
  • Lead during key timelines that include external financial audits, tax audits, ISO audits and any regulatory audits (KRA, NSSF, NHIF etc).
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly & annual reports and financial statements for smooth information flow to support prudent decision making.
  • Liaise with external auditors, Kenya Revenue Authority and bankers to ensure the smooth running of Kenya operations.
  • Legal & tax: manage the company's legal & tax function, by leveraging 3rd party advisors. Manage all aspects of legal & tax including contracting, litigation, company tax & legal structuring, tax compliance and the procurement of necessary licenses and registrations to conduct its business.
  • Lead the forecasting & budgeting process for CloudFactory Kenya by acting as a business partner to all departments.
  • Develop, monitor and review capital and operational expenditure and present red flags timeously.
  • Manage, mentor and grow the current finance team to meet the increasing workload and responsibilities while creating a sustainable succession plan by providing the right level of challenge and support.
  • Work with operational teams throughout CloudFactory to enable and empower them to make solid, well-informed decisions based on financial input.
  • Assist the Country Manager with all the financial planning and modelling as per the requirement related to expansion within Kenya and beyond.

Requirements

    • 5+ years in corporate business and experience in managing a finance team.
    • Prior experience in building corporate models and in completing a full accounting cycle, financial year end closing.
    • Financial risk management and compliance related to KRA, legal and company secretary.
    • Strong English language skills both in terms of verbal and written.
    • Experience conceptualizing and implementing projects and financial services adapted to specific markets and circumstances.
    • You have a proven track record of developing and implementing financial strategies that support organizational growth and sustainability.
    • You are a skilled communicator who can effectively convey complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
    • You are comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and have experience working with global teams.
    • Prior experience in ERP (preferably Netsuite).
    • Strategic / entrepreneurial mindset and skills
    • Excellent working knowledge of relevant statutory and tax regulations
    • Excellent coaching, mentoring and leadership skills

Technical Skills

      • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics
      • CPA, CIMA or ACCA qualification will be an added advantage
      • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
