Job Description
About the Role
- The Battery Maintenance Technician is responsible for conducting diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on Ampersand electric motorcycle batteries to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient performance. This role ensures adherence to established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and contributes directly to maintaining high standards of battery reliability and safety across Ampersand operations.
Key responsibilities
- Service, diagnose, and repair electric motorcycle batteries in accordance with Ampersand Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Conduct routine and preventive maintenance activities to maximize battery lifespan and performance.
- Ensure all batteries meet Ampersand’s quality and safety standards before being released for use.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve electrical, mechanical, or software-related issues within battery packs.
- Support root-cause analysis for recurring battery issues and recommend corrective actions.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, charging, and movement of batteries according to safety guidelines.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace, including tools, workstations, and equipment.
- Participate in regular team meetings, maintenance reviews, and performance discussions.
- Report any safety hazards, equipment defects, or abnormal battery behavior immediately.
Minimum requirements:
- Degree/Diploma in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or related technical field.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in electrical/automotive service operations.
- Sound technical knowledge of motorcycles, EV systems, and repair processes.
- Experience resolving escalated customer or technical issues with professionalism and empathy.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills both written and verbal
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, with problem-solving skills
- Self-driven and proactive, with a positive attitude and commitment to customer satisfaction.
