Job Purpose

  • To develop clear, compelling, and engaging content across internal and external digital and offline channels. The right candidate should have the capability to write high-quality content that informs, educates, and influences diverse audiences while upholding the organization’s brand voice, quality standards, and strategic objectives.

Job Responsibilities

  • Carry out research on topics assigned and fact-check any data collected.
  • Create content in form of news stories, articles, blogs, newsletters or print based on the data collected from the research.
  • Read style guides or project briefs and use them to develop content for assignments.
  • Convert the information acquired into readable, easy-to-understand content tailored to the specific audience.
  • Revise articles based on editorial feedback.
  • Turnaround stories and articles within short timelines.
  • Adhere to stipulated editorial guidelines.
  • Tailor writing style to meet the needs of target audience.
  • Proofreading assignments to correct errors before submission.
  • Submitting completed assignments in the requisite document format.
  • Review articles and publications.
  • Caption images to tell a comprehensive story.
  • Coordinate with external editors, translators, printers, or agencies where needed.
  • Be a self-driven internal journalist–seek out the best content and align it audiences and strategic objectives
  • Contribute to regular editorial plans
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices

Qualifications

Knowledge and Experience

  • A bachelor’s degree in communication or journalism writing or their equivalent.
  • 3 years’ experience in a similar role within a large organization.
  • Skilled in Sub-editing
  • Demonstrated skills in writing hard and soft news, storytelling, and communications across a wide variety of channels i.e., digital, offline media and beyond
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, efficiency, and ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Conversant with relevant industry standards and regulations
