Key Responsibilities.
Manage daily accounting operations, including accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger entries.
• Prepare timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and provide financial insights to management.
• Maintain accurate financial records, supporting documents, and a strong internal control environment.
• Support annual budgeting, monitor program and project expenditures, and prepare financial reports.
• Ensure compliance with donor requirements, fund restrictions, and accurate logging and allocation of donations.
• Process payroll, verify accuracy, and ensure timely remittance of statutory deductions (PAYE, NSSF, NHIF).
• Coordinate internal and external audits by preparing required documentation and reconciliation schedules.
• Maintain an updated fixed asset register and oversee consistent bank and cashbook reconciliations.
Key Qualifications.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA (K) qualification or equivalent.
• 3–5 years’ experience in accounting or finance, preferably in an NGO, education, or faith-based setting.
• Experience in fund accounting, donor reporting, and statutory compliance.
• Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, SAP, or similar) and advanced Excel.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
• High ethical standards, confidentiality, and alignment with Christian values.
