Key Responsibilities:
- The Custom Clearance Officer is primarily responsible for keeping track of and organizing material that are either being shipped or being received.
- Manage all logistics operation including all logistics assets in order to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery
- Co-ordinate and provide logistics support to on-going air, land and sea operations in the area.
- Support other logistics staff in department as needed.
- Plan and organize work to be resourceful and use initiative.
- Liaise with shipment companies and customs to obtain required documentation for shipment release
- Review the existing logistics method, and suggest any improvements that are required
- Prepare shipment clearance letters, in coordination with the related sectors (shipping agencies) and relevant departments.
- Plan, organize & coordinate with the relevant departments for the dangerous shipments (MOD, MOI, police departments, GHQ)
HSE Roles and Responsibilities:
- Comply with reasonable OSH instructions and safe working procedures.
- Use of appropriate personal protective equipment and safety systems.
- Be familiar with emergency and evacuation procedures.
- Not willfully or recklessly endanger anyone’s health and safety.
- Assist with the preparation of risk assessments; and
- Report OSH hazards, incidents, and issues
Experience and Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or relevant field
- Certified Professional Logistics qualification or training.
- Minimum two to three years of experience in Logistics.
- Understanding the confidentiality matters pertaining to Procurement & Supplier Qualifications.
- Must have good negotiating skills and ability to establish and maintain effective working relation with forwarding agents and transporters
- Must have ability to work effectively in a multicultural team environment and to deal patiently and tactfully with staff members and others.
- Must have high degree of accuracy and competency required together with the ability to work systematically and to communicate complex matters both orally and in writing.
