Job Description
  • We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Cashier to join our Finance & Accounts team. The successful candidate will handle billing, payments, and receipts while ensuring accuracy, integrity, and excellent customer service in line with hospital policies.

Responsibilities

  • Process patient bills, payments, and receipts (cash, cards, mobile money, and insurance co-pays).
  • Verify billing information and ensure accuracy of charges before posting.
  • Handle insurance pre-authorizations and communicate billing requirements to patients.
  • Reconcile daily cash collections and prepare end-of-day reports.
  • Maintain proper records of transactions in the hospital information system.
  • Safeguard cash and ensure timely handover to the Finance department.
  • Address patient billing inquiries with professionalism and courtesy.
  • Support credit control processes by highlighting unpaid balances and following up as directed.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital financial policies and confidentiality standards.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Diploma in Accountancy /CPA II/ Diploma in Front office operations
  • Minimum of 2 Years experience in Cashiering or Financial roles preferably in Healthcare set up.
  • Understanding of healthcare billing procedures and insurance claims processes.
  • Proficiency in Computerized Accounting & MS Office
  • Proficiency in handling financial transactions, including cash, credit, and digital payments.
  • A Person of Integrity & exhibits high level of Confidentiality, Reliability,
  • Strong Mathematical Skills & attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Patience and empathy
  • Willing to collaborate with team members.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work
  • Ability to handle cash and electronic payments securely and responsibly
  • Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, as needed
