Job Description

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Legal Advisory and Support

  • Provide legal advice to management on employment law, regulatory compliance, contract law, and corporate governance.
  • Assist in interpreting laws, rulings, and regulations to ensure the company remains compliant with all statutory requirements.
  • Support HR and management in handling staff-related legal issues such as disciplinary actions, terminations, and employment contracts.

Document Preparation and Review

  • Draft, review, and revise contracts, internal agreements, NDAs, MoUs, and company policies to ensure legal soundness and risk mitigation.
  • Maintain and update all legal documents, contracts, and official correspondences.
  • Assist in preparing legal documentation for licensing, registration, and compliance with relevant government agencies.

Dispute Resolution & Client Complaints

  • Act as a point of contact for handling and resolving client complaints in a professional and timely manner.
  • Liaise with internal departments to investigate and resolve complaints while minimizing legal exposure.
  • Maintain records of complaints and resolution outcomes to monitor trends and mitigate future risks.

Legal Proceedings and Litigation Support

  • Work closely with the Legal Counsel to support ongoing legal proceedings including preparing case files, collecting evidence, and attending hearings when required.
  • Ensure all court dates, filings, and deadlines are tracked and met.
  • Liaise with external legal representatives, advocates, and regulatory bodies as needed.

Compliance and Legal Administration

  • Monitor changes in relevant legislation and regulations and advise management accordingly.
  • Ensure proper legal filing systems are maintained.
  • Support company departments in ensuring operational practices are legally compliant.

KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION

  • Degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized institution
  • At least 2–3 years of proven experience working as a Legal Assistant or in a legal support role, preferably in a busy corporate environment
  • Knowledge of Kenyan labor laws, corporate law, and regulatory compliance
  • Strong understanding of legal terminology, documentation, and procedures
Salary: Ksh. 40,000 - Ksh. 50,000
