- We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Refund Officer to join our dynamic team in the Oil Department based in Mombasa. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and processing customer refund claims, ensuring accuracy, compliance with internal policies, and timely disbursement. This role is key in supporting financial integrity and maintaining strong customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and validate refund requests in accordance with KRA/company policies and procedures.
- Liaise with external stakeholders to ensure supporting documentation is accurate and complete.
- Review customer accounts and reconcile discrepancies related to payments or product returns.
- Maintain accurate records of all refund transactions and documentation for audit and reporting purposes.
- Prepare weekly and monthly reports on refund status, trends, and issues.
- Assist in identifying process improvements to enhance the efficiency of refund operations.
- Ensure compliance with relevant tax regulations and company policies.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a finance or accounting-related role; experience in the oil & gas sector is an added advantage.
- Strong understanding of financial documentation and refund processes.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and ICMS systems.
- High level of accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
