We serve over 3000 learners across 250 schools and colleges in Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, Ethiopia and Malawi. We have been working with children and young adults with visual impairments in Africa for nearly two decades. We believe that children and young adults with visual impairments can only achieve real social and economic inclusion in society by gaining access to quality education. By improving literacy and digital skills among children and young adults with visual impairments, we believe we can help them to acquire the requisite education, knowledge and skills to attainhigher job placement s, higher levels of integration in society and independent living

Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Programs to join our team in Nairobi, Kenya. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation, and evaluation of all KBTA programs. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent project management skills and a passion for education and empowerment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of KBTA's program strategies to achieve organizational goals.
  • Oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of all programs, ensuring alignment with KBTA's mission and objectives.
  • Manage program budgets, ensuring efficient and effective use of resources.
  • Monitor and report on program outcomes, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including partner organizations, donors, and community leaders.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise program staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance team environment.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and best practices to ensure KBTA programs remain innovative and impactful.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in project management, preferably within the education sector.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse groups and build strong partnerships.
  • onstrated ability to manage budgets and resources efficiently.
  • A passion for education and commitment to empowering visually impaired students.
