Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Environmental, Social Governance & Reputational Risk Officer to join our team in Nairobi. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in identifying, assessing, and mitigating environmental, social, and reputational risks associated with our operations and business activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement an environmental and social risk management framework in alignment with the bank's policies and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct risk assessments and due diligence on environmental and social factors impacting the bank's operations and investments.
- Work closely with various departments to ensure compliance with environmental, social, and governance (ESG) standards and best practices.
- Monitor and report on the bank’s ESG performance and progress towards sustainability goals.
- Engage with stakeholders, including clients, regulators, and community groups, to address ESG concerns and promote sustainable practices.
- Provide training and capacity-building initiatives on ESG-related topics for staff and other stakeholders.
Requirements
- A degree or diploma in Environmental Science, Social Studies, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience in environmental and social risk management within the banking or financial services industry.
- Strong understanding of ESG principles, frameworks, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
