Responsibilities
Generate leads and penetrate existing markets with mostly focus on SMEs through referrals, direct mail, email, networking etc.
Attend to meetings and organize conference calls with customers IT departments and decision makers in Kenya (open to other countries in the Region).
Identify the expectations and needs of the prospect and prepare commercial proposals accordingly.
Demonstrate technical selling skills and product knowledge to give effective presentation.
Converse directly with top-level executives, contract negotiations and coordinate implementation of solutions.
Conduct market research to identify industry trends, customer needs, and competitive landscapes across Kenya.
Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy to drive growth and market penetration.
Develop and manage a robust sales pipeline, including lead generation, qualification, and closing deals.
Develop a team, lead and provide guidance and support to ensure that they are meeting their goals and objectives.
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, understanding their requirements and delivering tailored solutions.
Effectively communicate the value propositions and benefits of our products to clients and partners.
Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows to raise brand awareness.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product development, customer support, and finance, to ensure seamless service delivery.
Monitor and report on sales performance, key metrics, and market trends.
Provide input for sales forecasts, budget planning, and business reviews.
Stay updated on emerging technologies, industry trends, and competitive intelligence.
Attend training sessions, workshops, and conferences to enhance knowledge and skills.
Maintain and develop strong customer/supplier relationships.
Provide weekly reports to Manager.
Attend networking and marketing events
Occasionally do business trips within Kenya (possible to other Africa countries when necessary).
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Network Technology or Network Engineering, or a related field.
Must have 5+ proven years of experience as a Business Development Manager in an ISP or Telco Industry.
At least 3 years of in-depth managerial experience in Business development/ Business growth.
Strong understanding of ISP and network products, services, and solutions.
Excellent managing of teams to ensure business goals are met.
Excellent sales and negotiation skills, with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
Strategic thinker with the ability to identify and capitalize on business opportunities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
