DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare and cook daily meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks) according to household preferences and dietary requirements
Plan weekly menus in collaboration with the employer, ensuring variety and balanced nutrition
Shop for groceries and maintain proper inventory of kitchen supplies and ingredients
Operate and maintain kitchen appliances and equipment efficiently and safely
Maintain a clean, organized, and hygienic kitchen environment at all times
Ensure all meals are prepared in accordance with food safety and hygiene standards
Cater for guests during family events, dinners, or gatherings when required
Accommodate dietary restrictions and preferences including vegetarian, low-carb, gluten-free, or other needs
Prepare and store meals for later consumption when necessary
Perform kitchen-related cleaning tasks, including dishwashing, sanitizing surfaces, and proper food storage
Occasionally assist in related domestic duties when needed
KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION
Certificate in Food Preparation or Culinary Arts is an added advantage
Minimum 2 years' proven experience as a Cook in a similar private home or professional kitchen setting
Strong knowledge of local and international cuisines
Familiarity with kitchen machines and appliances (e.g., ovens, blenders, food processors)
Excellent understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
Prior experience working in a high-end household or hospitality environment is a strong advantage
Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet meal deadlines
High level of integrity, cleanliness, and attention to detail
Good communication skills (English and/or Swahili)
