Key Responsibilities

 

Strategic Sales Leadership

 

Develop and implement a high-impact sales strategy for Digital Loans, Check-Off and Log Book

 

Loan products tailored to the Kenyan market.

 

Set and deliver on sales targets, loan book growth, and customer acquisition metrics.

 

Identify new market segments and opportunities for growth and product expansion.

 

Ecosystem Engagement & Business Development

 

Build and maintain strong relationships with key players in the check-off ecosystem: public and private employers, unions, government payroll systems, SACCOs, and third-party administrators.

 

Lead the development of partnerships with car dealers, asset financiers, and vehicle logbook registries to accelerate Log Book Loan origination.

 

Navigate regulatory, compliance, and data-sharing requirements within ecosystem partnerships.

 

Operational & Team Leadership

 

Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing sales team across Kenya.

 

Ensure efficient end-to-end customer onboarding, KYC, and loan processing in collaboration with credit, operations, and tech teams.

 

Design and implement incentive structures and performance management frameworks for sales teams.

 

 Innovation & Digital Sales Channels

 

Champion the use of digital tools, mobile channels, and CRM platforms to scale customer acquisition and reduce operational friction.

 

Work closely with product and technology teams to innovate around user experience, loan disbursement, and recovery processes.

 

Monitor competitor activity and emerging trends to ensure product-market fit and pricing competitiveness.

 

Analytics, Reporting & Feedback Loops

 

Monitor KPIs including loan origination volume, conversion rates, sales cycle times, and NPL ratios across product lines.

 

Provide regular sales forecasts, pipeline reports, and actionable insights to executive leadership.

 

Use feedback from the market to recommend enhancements to product design and credit risk models.

 

Requirements

 

Qualifications & Experience

 

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field.

 

Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in sales leadership roles within microfinance, digital lending, or financial services in Kenya.

 

Strong understanding of the Digital and Check-Off loan ecosystem, including government and parastatal payroll systems.

 

Demonstrated success in Log Book Loans, asset-based lending, or related consumer lending products.

 

Proven ability to manage sales teams, scale distribution networks, and lead B2B and B2C engagement models.

 

Strong analytical skills, entrepreneurial drive, and digital fluency.
