Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Lead transparent and competitive recruitment and selection processes.
- Drive performance management, staff capacity building, and retention initiatives.
- Provide strategic HR and administration advisory to management and staff.
- Ensure compliance with labour laws, HR policies, and organizational procedures.
- Oversee compensation, benefits, payroll, and HR systems.
- Support staff development, training, and career growth.
- Manage employee relations, grievance mechanisms, and conflict resolution.
- Promote organizational culture, health & safety, and staff wellbeing.
- Lead HR strategy formulation aligned with GBM’s overall strategy.
- Supervise and mentor the HR & Administration team.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in HR Management, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s degree is an added advantage).
- Membership with IHRM or another relevant professional body (preferred).
- At least 5 years’ proven experience in a similar role, ideally in NGOs or international organizations.
- Strong knowledge of HR best practices, Kenyan labour laws, and compliance standards.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities, with sensitivity to cultural diversity.
- Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and gender equality.
- Ability to work strategically, manage change, and travel locally/regionally when required.
