Currently we are offering education from Playgroup (age 2+) to Year 6, in classes no bigger than 20 pupils. ​Following the British Curriculum with a Kenyan twist and a strong focus on the natural environment around us, we offer high quality education to a wide range of pupils. Many of our students integrate into 8-4-4 after Kivukoni, where others move on to other international schools inside or outside the country. ​
Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Early Years Teacher & Coordinator, familiar with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, experienced and committed to child-centered learning. This role combines class teaching with leadership responsibilities, supporting 2 other classes within Early Years, to ensure high standards in early childhood education while fostering a happy and nurturing learning environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Teaching & Learning:

 

Plan and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons inspired by the EYFS framework, incorporating experiential learning opportunities.

 

Foster an environment where children develop a love of learning through play, storytelling, movement, outdoor exploration, and creative expression.

 

Use observation and assessment to track each child's holistic development, ensuring individual learning journeys are met with support and encouragement.

 

Leadership & Coordination:

 

Guide and mentor Early Years staff, supporting their professional development and ensuring consistency with the school’s  pedagogical approach.

 

Develop and implement age-appropriate curricula aligned with EYFS principles while tailoring it to our unique environment and holistic philosophy.

 

Work closely with parents, providing clear communication, guidance, and workshops on early childhood development and building the school-home connection.

 

Ensure that safeguarding, health, and safety policies are upheld, and promote the well-being of every child in our care.

 

Collaborate with school leadership on continuous improvement in early childhood education.

Qualifications & Requirements

 

A recognized degree or diploma in Early Childhood Education, plus TSC. 

 

6+ Years experience working in play-based, holistic learning settings

 

Strong familiarity with EYFS principles and best practices.

 

2+ years leadership experience within an Early Years setting.

 

Competence with ICT and digital media a strong advantage. 

 

First Aid and Safeguarding training (or willingness to obtain).

 

Ability to adapt and thrive in a diverse and busy school environment.
