DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Sales Strategy & Planning
Design and implement the national sales strategy in alignment with business goals and market dynamics.
Translate overall business objectives into actionable sales plans for each region.
Conduct market segmentation and identify growth opportunities across geographies and customer segments.
Collaborate with cross-functional leadership (marketing, product, finance) to ensure unified go-to-market efforts.
Team Leadership & Management
Lead, mentor, and motivate regional sales managers and field sales teams to achieve ambitious revenue targets.
Set individual and team KPIs, conduct regular performance reviews, and implement improvement plans as needed.
Build a high-performance culture by investing in training, capability building, and career development.
Oversee the recruitment, onboarding, and integration of new sales hires.
Revenue Growth & Target Achievement
Drive consistent revenue growth and achieve quarterly and annual sales targets across all regions.
Implement processes and sales methodologies that improve conversion rates and reduce sales cycles.
Identify and close key strategic accounts and partnerships to drive topline impact.
Market Intelligence & Business Insights
Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences to stay ahead of the curve.
Provide regular updates to senior management on sales forecasts, pipeline health, and market dynamics.
Use data and analytics to inform strategic decisions, territory optimization, and sales investments.
Customer Relationship Management
Foster long-term relationships with key accounts, channel partners, and distributors to ensure retention and satisfaction.
Implement customer feedback mechanisms to improve service delivery and product-market fit.
Resolve escalated customer issues, ensuring timely and effective resolution to maintain brand trust.
Sales Operations & Reporting
Ensure the effective use of CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) for pipeline management, tracking, and reporting.
Standardize reporting formats, dashboards, and performance metrics to provide visibility across regions.
Optimize sales processes and remove bottlenecks that hinder team productivity.
Budgeting & Resource Allocation
Develop and manage the national sales budget, including travel, hiring, training, and incentives.
Ensure optimal allocation of resources (teams, budgets, time) across high-potential markets.
Monitor return on investment (ROI) for sales campaigns and adjust strategies accordingly.
Compliance & Governance
Ensure all sales activities comply with company policies, legal guidelines, and industry regulations.
Establish a system of checks and controls to mitigate risks related to pricing, discounts, and contracts.
Promote ethical sales practices and uphold the company’s values in all external engagements.
KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION
Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field (MBA preferred)
8+ years of sales experience, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership or managerial role, in the energy and lubricants sector
Must have a valid driving licence
Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets in a national or regional capacity
Strong leadership, team management, and people development skills
Excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation abilities
Flexibility to travel across the country
Must be willing to relocate or be posted in any part of the country
