Job Summary
Reporting to the CEO, the Strategic Information and Data Science Lead will lead our hospital’s applied research strategy and oversee our health information systems and IT function. This role is vital in ensuring our data systems, research projects, and digital platforms support excellence in clinical services, patient outcomes, and organizational decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the hospital’s IT function and data infrastructure, with a strong focus on research-enabling technologies, health informatics platforms, digital tools, and secure database systems that support data-driven healthcare delivery.
Drive the hospital’s research and development (R&D) agenda, prioritizing studies that improve patient outcomes, service quality, and operational efficiency through innovation and applied research.
Design, manage, and publish applied research projects, ensuring research findings are translated into practice to inform care models, clinical guidelines, and strategic hospital improvements.
Develop and implement data strategies and analytics frameworks, including real-time dashboards, predictive models (using Power BI, R, Python, SQL), and evidence-generation tools to support planning, clinical decisions, and financial insights.
Oversee integration and customization of Electronic Health Records (EHRs) and hospital information systems (HIS), ensuring seamless data flow across departments, system interoperability, and digital tracking for patient care, appointments, and inventory.
Build and lead a multidisciplinary team, fostering a culture of data literacy, AI-driven innovation, and continuous learning to support institutional growth, decision-making, and excellence in care.
Monitor data integrity and manage risks related to digital systems and information governance.
Qualifications & Experience
Master’s degree in Data Science, Health Informatics, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, or a related field.
Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a health-related IT field.
Minimum 10 years’ experience in data analytics, research, or IT leadership in a hospital or healthcare institution, with 5+ years in a senior role.
Proficiency in Power BI, Python, R, SQL, and database systems (e.g., MongoDB, MySQL).
Proven leadership in applied research, IT strategy, and EHR implementation.
Strong understanding of clinical operations, research ethics, and data privacy compliance
