About You
We’re looking for someone who has strong leadership experience across internal functions, and has solved complex problems, delivered results and worked closely with leadership to drive efficiency, build relationships and deliver impact. You should be;
A senior operator with at least 6 years of leadership experience across internal functions (operations, finance, HR, programs), preferably in the nonprofit or social justice space. Experience in the mobility sector can be helpful but is not essential.
A strong communicator and relationship manager, able to engage confidently with senior-level partners, funders and policy makers, as well as manage internal teams
Adept at building inclusive systems, managing complexity, and supporting a thriving people-centered culture.
Have a deep understanding of African or Global South organizing and feminist values.
Able to thrive in partnership with a visionary leader and other team leads to achieve shared goals, confident in leading without always being in the spotlight.

Key Responsibilities
Operational leadership and support
Lead day-to-day operations and ensuring internal systems run smoothly, efficiently, and in compliance with relevant regulations and quality standards. This includes oversight of the programs, operations, finance, and communications departments.
Act as a key thought partner and collaborator to the Executive Director, offering strategic counsel and timely and accurate updates on internal operations, priorities and team dynamics, organizational health to help the ED make informed strategic decisions
Implement and oversee systems that support decision-making, efficient workflows, and organizational accountability and quality assurance.
Ensure compliance with internal policies, donor requirements and regulatory frameworks
Guiding the implementation of Flone’s mission, programs, and strategy.
Support the organisation in implementing policies and new systems that provide clear decision-making,
Financial Oversight
Collaborate closely with the Executive Director and the finance team to ensure adherence to sound financial practice including budgeting, planning, reporting and auditing.
Oversee grant compliance, integrity, grant reporting, and strategic resource allocation, including financial reports to the board and funders.
People & Culture
Oversee core people functions across the entire employee life cycle - from recruitment to performance development
Champion a healthy, inclusive, feminist and values-aligned workplace culture.
Program Collaboration
Collaborate closely with the Executive Director and Programs Lead to ensure that program teams are well-supported through aligned operations, staffing, and systems.
Collaborate with program leadership to identify and respond to cross-cutting needs and opportunities across program areas.
Ensure programs are implemented to the highest standards by aligning operational support with values, goals, and outcomes that center impact, equity, and effectiveness.
Stay informed of sector trends and best practices by engaging in relevant peer networks, learning communities, and cross-organizational collaborations to inform and enhance program quality.
External Stakeholder Engagement
Represent Flone with institutional partners, and collaborators and donors with the objective of building and maintaining trust-based relationships that seek to strengthen collaboration, advance shared goals, and ensure accountability in our work together.
Communications & Advocacy Support
Collaborate with the Communications team to support the development and implementation of strategic communications initiatives that enhance organizational visibility, donor engagement, and drive movement-building efforts.
Ensure that the organization’s internal and external messages reflect its feminist values and strategic priorities.
