Job Description

Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail:-

 

Coordinating the development, implementation and review of administration policies, strategies, regulations, guidelines, standards and procedures;

 

Coordinating fleet management;

 

Planning and coordinating office accommodation;

 

Overseeing repairs and maintenance schedules and logs for institute’s vehicles, office furniture, office premises;

 

Ensuring renewal of general insurance covers for vehicles, buildings and equipment;

 

Coordinating the development and maintenance of tools and equipment register;

 

Ensuring provision of office equipment, furniture and facilities;

 

Coordinating identification of obsolete assets and manage the disposal process;

 

 Managing telephone, registry and security services;

 

Coordinating outsourced services;

 

Ensuring Authority’s adherence to employees’ safety health and welfare in accordance to Occupational Safety and Health Act, 2007;

 

Coordinating development and maintenance of security systems for the Institute;

 

Coordinating and managing bills, land rates and utilities;

 

Safeguarding the Institute’s assets including office premises, vehicle, office equipment and furniture; and

 

Ensuring the maintenance of up-to-date inventories of the institute’s establishment, equipment and facilities. 

 

Requirements for Appointment

 

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:-

 

Cumulative service period of twelve (12) years’ work experience, three (3) of which should have been at the level of Principal Administration Officer II or in a comparable position;

 

Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following disciplines: - Public Administration, Business Administration, Transport and Logistics or its equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution;i

 

Master’s Degree in any of the following disciplines: - Human Resource Development, Business Administration, Transport and Logistics or its equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution.)

 

Management course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution;

 

Membership to a professional body in good standing where applicable;

 

Proficiency in computer applications; and

 

Demonstrated a high degree of professional competence and administrative capability as reflected in work performance and results.
