ROLE AND CONTEXT

 

OBJECTIVES:

 

Seeking a dynamic channel manager to drive Tier III modern trade growth in emerging markets.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Bachelor's degree in Business, marketing, or related field.

 

Proficient in MS Office.

 

Knowledge of sales tools.

 

Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills

 

Adaptable and effective in fast-paced environments.

 

EXPERIENCE

 

2-4 years in modem trade sales, ideally in FMCG or retail.

 

Familiar with Kenya's Tier III retail landscape. Experience leading field sales teams.

 

RELATIONSHIPS & ROLES: Internal/External Co-operation:

 

Ability to sale Strategy & Execution Team Leader

 

Ability to manage Retail & Distributor Engagements.

 

Ability to monitor Performance..

 

Ability to conduct market analysis.

Modern trade manager

 

KEY OUTPUTS / TASKS

 

Drive growth in Tier III supermarkets through targeted sales strategies.

 

Lead and motivate field sales teams to meet distribution, visibility, and revenue goals.

 

Build and manage strong relationships with key retailers and distributors.

 

Monitor sales performance and KPIs; report insights and recommend actions.

 

Conduct regular market visits and competitor analysis to guide strategy.

 

Plan and execute promotions, in-store activations, and product launches.

 

Support negotiations of trading terms, JBPS, and commercial agreements with key accounts.

 

Identify new Tier III outlets to expand market coverage.

 

Ensure timely execution of trade marketing initiatives at store level.

 

Collaborate with supply chain to maintain optimal stock levels in-store.

 

Track competitor pricing and recommend adjustments to stay competitive.

 

Support training and on boarding of new sales representatives.

 

Ensure compliance with brand guidelines and planogram execution.

 

Gather field intelligence to inform product and route-to-market improvements.
