Job Description

The Payroll  Manager will ensure the accuracy, compliance, and timely processing of payroll for the organization. This role involves verifying payroll data to identify discrepancies ensuring that the organization adheres to all relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and proficient in payroll systems and regulations and has a strong understanding of legal frameworks, regulatory requirements, and ethical practices.

Key Duties/Responsibilities

  • Manage the payroll process, including processing payroll, verifying payroll data, and ensuring accurate and timely payment of employees.
  • Preparation and filing of monthly tax and other statutory returns in compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Review of payroll reports to ensure accurate tax computations and monitor any changes in income tax and other legislations.
  • Maintain accurate payroll records and prepare reports for management and regulatory agencies.
  • Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Address payroll related queries within the stipulated timelines.
  • Collaborate with HR to ensure accurate employee data and maintain employee payroll records.
  • Participate in new payroll system developments and improvements of the existing systems and/or workflows.
  • Develop and implement processes and procedures to improve payroll efficiency and accuracy.
  • Develop and implement compliance programs, policies, and procedures to ensure adherence to applicable laws.

Academic and Professional Qualifications and experience required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource, or relevant background
  • Proficiency in payroll software and timekeeping software.
  • At least seven (7) years’ experience managing payroll, preferably from Floricultural or Agricultural or Manufacturing Industries handling a vertical team of 1500+ members
  • Experience in preparing payroll and tax reports, as well as addressing payroll related queries
  • In-depth knowledge of applicable tax laws
