Job Description
- We are seeking a Customs Declaration and Documentation Officer to support customs compliance activities under the EPZ framework. The officer will be responsible for preparing, submitting, and managing all customs-related documentation to ensure adherence to relevant regulations and streamline processes with the Revenue Authorities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and submit customs declarations promptly using the KRA ICMS online platform.
- Ensure all documentation complies with EPZ regulations and other applicable customs laws.
- Maintain accurate records of all customs documentation and transactions.
- Coordinate with internal departments to collect necessary information for customs processing.
- Work closely with customs authorities and other regulatory bodies to resolve compliance-related issues.
- Assist in audits and provide necessary documentation to demonstrate compliance.
- Identify and mitigate risks related to customs declarations and compliance.
- Stay updated on customs and trade regulations to ensure continuous compliance.
- Ensure proper classification and valuation of goods to avoid penalties and delays.
- Support the logistics team in ensuring smooth clearance of goods and timely shipments.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, International Trade, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in customs documentation and clearance, preferably within an EPZ environment.
- Strong understanding of KRA ICMS online platform and customs procedures.
- Knowledge of EPZ regulations, customs tariffs, and trade agreements.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Access).
