Our client a leading manufacturer of glass is looking to hire a Plant Maintenance Manager who will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance operations of a manufacturing or plant. This role ensures that all equipment, machinery, and facilities are maintained to the highest standards to minimize downtime, ensure safety, and optimize productivity. The Plant Maintenance Manager will lead a team of maintenance technicians and coordinate with other departments to support the plant’s operational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance Planning and Scheduling:
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to ensure the reliability and longevity of plant equipment.
- Schedule and prioritize maintenance tasks to minimize disruption to production schedules.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and equipment history.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Supervise, train, and mentor a team of maintenance technicians and engineers.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.
- Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement within the maintenance team.
Equipment and Facility Management:
- Oversee the repair and maintenance of all plant machinery, equipment, and facilities.
- Ensure that all equipment is operating efficiently and safely.
- Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for specialized repairs and services.
Budget and Resource Management:
- Develop and manage the maintenance department’s budget, including labor, materials, and equipment costs.
- Monitor and control expenses to ensure cost-effective maintenance operations.
- Procure necessary tools, parts, and equipment for maintenance activities.
Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
- Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
- Promote a safe working environment and ensure that all maintenance activities are carried out in accordance with safety protocols.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in maintenance operations.
- Stay updated on the latest technologies and trends in plant maintenance and recommend upgrades or changes as needed.
- Lead root cause analysis and problem-solving efforts to address recurring equipment issues.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent experience may be considered.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in plant maintenance, with at least 3 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems. Proficiency in using
- maintenance management software (CMMS) and other relevant tools.
- Proven ability to lead and develop a team, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make decisions under pressure.
- Relevant certifications such as Certified Maintenance Manager (CMM) or Certified
- Reliability Leader (CRL) are a plus.
