Job Description
- The Campaign Strategist plays an important role in the Campaigns and Advocacy department, providing strategic facilitation and global oversight and alignment in the implementation of World Animal Protections campaign strategies to help ensure we maintain effective and consistent approaches towards the delivery of our organisational goals.
- Working with the Head of Strategy for their relevant campaign, other strategists, international and relevant country teams, they engage with external stakeholders, networks and partners to support our positions to accelerate the necessary transformation of our food system and ending wildlife exploitation, and ultimately increase the impact we can achieve for animals.
- We know that positive change to end animal suffering is possible in our lifetime, and we are determined to make this happen.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic facilitation, support and coordination to the network to enable delivery of agreed priority milestones and outcomes.
- Stay abreast of external developments of relevance to either the Food Systems or Wildlife strategy to facilitate discussion, recommend new initiatives and integrate insights into strategies and plans as required.
- Collaborate closely with External Engagement and Research and Animal Welfare teams to ensure seamless functional integration.
- Consult closely with Fundraising and Engagement colleagues to enable growth in engagement and income on Food Systems/Wildlife strategies and plans and with Network Delivery to support implementation of approved plans and monitor progress.
- Support organisational growth and secure resources (income) and engage (people and partnerships) by actively contributing to our brand, supporter relationships, fundraising, communications, and donor reporting.
- Take responsibility for their own and others wellbeing ensuring we comply with relevant policies and laws, including health and safety, data privacy and protection and maintain any necessary confidentiality
- Be available for international travel to support or engage in our activities.
- This role may involve additional duties as required, embracing a flexible approach to support our mission.
Key Skills and Requirements for the position:
- Proven experience in the design, development and implementation of high impact social change campaign strategies that have achieved change.
- Proven experience of utilising strong collaborative and co-creation approaches to secure buy in from stakeholders and drive positive change.
- Excellent project leadership skills, co-ordination skills and the ability work to strict deadlines.
- Works well under the pressure of deadlines
- Team player with the ability to develop and maintain good working relationships across the organisation.
- Experience of working with people from different countries, cultures and backgrounds and in working to deadlines.
- Experience constructively engaging with stakeholders and securing agreement to drive progress
- Experience managing budgets.
- Flexibility to undertake international travel.
- Strong communicator with excellent spoken and written English and presentation skills who can constructively engage external and internal stakeholders at all levels
- A passion for animal welfare and a strong commitment to the aims and values of World Animal protection
- Experience of working in a matrix environment, across multiple projects in an international NGO environment
- Experience supporting organisational growth strategies such as fundraising increasing supporters
