Job Description
OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY
- Reporting to the Team Lead - Maintenance, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring cleanliness, hygiene, and organization of hospital utility rooms, including the genset room, vacuum room, oxygen plants, MRI room, chiller, R.O. plant, AHU room, and workshop to maintain a safe and efficient working environment. Assists with clerical duties, movement of equipment, and basic biomedical tasks as required.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Cleaning and Maintenance of Utility Rooms.
- Disposal of waste safely in designated areas.
- Safe Handling of Cleaning Equipment & Chemicals using appropriate cleaning tools and chemicals based on hospital safety protocols.
- Ensure compliance with infection control and waste management guidelines.
- Support the maintenance department with basic clerical duties (e.g., filling checklists, logging maintenance requests).
- Assist in keeping records of cleaned areas and reporting maintenance issues.
- Assist in the movement and positioning of hospital equipment within the utility rooms.
- Ensure equipment is placed in designated areas after cleaning and maintenance.
- Assist biomedical engineers with basic cleaning and preparation of medical equipment.
- Follow hospital protocols when handling biomedical devices.
The requirements
- Certificate in Biomedical Engineering or any related course from a recognized institution.
- At least one (1) year of experience in cleaning hospital utility rooms, industrial areas, or engineering facilities.
- Basic understanding of hospital safety procedures and utility room operations
