As a Tour Consultant at Gemfinders Safaris, you will be responsible for providing expert advice, designing customized itineraries, and assisting our clients with booking tours, safaris, and travel services across East Africa. You will play a key role in ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience for our clients, from initial inquiry through to post-trip follow-up.

Key Responsibilities:

• Engage with clients to understand their travel preferences and requirements.
• Design personalized itineraries for individual and group tours, highlighting the best attractions and experiences in East Africa.
• Provide detailed information on destinations, accommodations, and activities available for each tour package.
• Coordinate bookings for accommodations, transportation, safaris, and other travel-related services.
• Ensure that clients' travel arrangements run smoothly by addressing any issues or concerns before, during, and after the tour.
• Stay informed about the latest travel trends, new destinations, and safari options in East Africa.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and partners.
• Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues in a professional and timely manner.
• Promote and sell additional services such as travel insurance, optional activities, and special tours.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in the travel and tourism industry
• In-depth knowledge of East African destinations, wildlife, safaris, and cultural experiences.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Proficiency in using travel booking systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Fluent in English (knowledge of additional languages is a plus).
• A passion for travel and providing exceptional experiences for clients.

Preferred Qualifications:

• A degree or diploma in Tourism, Hospitality, or a related field.
• Previous experience in a tour consultant or sales/marketing role.
• Familiarity with the latest trends in sustainable tourism.
