Job Description
Summary:
- We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Legal Lead to provide expert legal counsel, oversee corporate governance, ensure compliance with legal and regulatory frameworks, and manage contractual and litigation matters. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in protecting the company's legal interests while supporting business growth and risk mitigation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Legal Advisory: Provide strategic legal guidance to Executive Leadership, and various departments to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the company adheres to legal and regulatory requirements by keeping policies and procedures up to date.
- Contract & Risk Management: Oversee the drafting, review, and negotiation of contracts,
- agreements, and legal documents while managing legal risks effectively.
- Corporate Governance: Ensuring compliance with governance best practices.
- Security Perfection: Ensure proper legal documentation and perfection of securities for the company's financial transactions.
- Dispute Resolution, Libel & Litigation: Handle litigation matters, manage legal disputes, and work with external legal advisors to protect the company's interests.
Qualifications & Minimum Experience:
- Education: Bachelor of Laws (LLB) Degree or equivalent from a recognized institution.
- Professional Certifications: Admission to the Bar and registered member of the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) in good standing.
- Membership: Must be an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya with a valid LSK practicing certificate.
- Experience: Minimum 7 years of legal practice, with at least 3 years in senior management.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of the Media sector, security perfection, and regulatory frameworks affecting Media and corporate law.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and people management skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks under strict deadlines
- High levels of integrity, professionalism, and ethical standards
