Job Description
About the role
- Burn is looking for a Head of Sales Training (HOD Sales Training) to drive the development and execution of comprehensive training programs that enhance the performance of its sales teams across diverse markets. This role is critical in fostering a culture of excellence, ensuring consistent skill development, and supporting the company’s ambitious growth and market expansion goals.
Duties and Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and oversee the implementation of a comprehensive sales training strategy for electric and biomass businesses.
- Ensure alignment of the training programs with organizational goals and sales targets.
- Build and scale training capacity across markets to ensure effective delivery of in-person and mobile-based training.
Training Program Management:
- Continuously execute in-person training for sales agents and TCRs, with a monthly schedule for electric and bi-monthly for biomass.
- Oversee the rollout and effective use of the mobile-based training platform selected for agent self-training and automated evaluations.
- Collaborate with commercial and product teams to update and enhance training curricula, modules, and materials.
Performance Monitoring and Evaluation:
- Work with agent care teams to evaluate agents, identify training gaps, and retrain agents who fail evaluations while exiting agents unable to meet performance standards.
- Implement robust methods to track training outcomes and agent performance, ensuring measurable improvements in sales productivity.
Team Development:
- Scale up the number of trainers to meet in-person training requirements for a growing sales team.
- Lead and mentor training managers for electric and biomass sales, ensuring consistency in the training structure and approach across both verticals.
Key Deliverables:
- Establish and execute a scalable training model that supports in-person and mobile training platforms.
- Improve the pass rate and performance of sales agents through targeted training interventions.
- Build a pipeline of skilled trainers and ensure their continuous professional development.
- Regularly report training impact metrics to the Global Sales Operations Director.
Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Education, Human Resources, or a related field. A master’s degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in sales training, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven expertise in designing and implementing training programs for large, diverse teams.
- Experience in using digital training tools and platforms for training
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to measure training effectiveness.
- Knowledge of the carbon market and environmental issues is an advantage.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- This role involves frequent travel across out key markets to oversee training operations and ensure program consistency.
