Job Description
Core Responsibilities
- Support and coordinate the development of audience-focused communications and outreach.
- Provide concise and compelling written content for presentations, newsletters, social media, and other content to support HETA’s messaging priorities and overall programmatic objectives.
- Provide copyediting and formatting support for HETA documents and outreach materials, ensuring adherence to Power Africa and USAID branding and marking guidance.
- Post content to the HETA website, and track web analytics.
- Develop and send email marketing campaigns.
- Maintain and manage HETA’s distribution lists.
- Maintain and manage the HETA photo library.
- Work with Abt’s corporate Marketing & Communications team to identify opportunities to cross-share HETA stories that advance the company’s digital communications goals.
- Assist in planning and coordinating conference activities and webinars.
- Contribute proactively to a culture of information sharing and cross-team learning with HETA’s geographically dispersed team.
What We Value
- Minimum: Bachelor’s degree with 4-6 years of relevant experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, English, marketing, or another relevant field in addition to 5+ years of relevant experience is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience with social media platforms, email management software, and/or web content management tools, including MailChimp and WordPress.
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Skilled user of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of graphic design basics, with experience using Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud, and/or similar tools.
- Familiarity with USAID, Power Africa, or other international development donors is required.
- Strong organizational and coordination skills; experience coordinating event logistics a plus.
- Experience working with remote or geographically dispersed teams a plus.
- Fluency in written and spoken English required; French, Portuguese, or Swahili are a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated appetite for learning.
