Description: The Aga Khan Academies are an agency of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN). Job Description

The position

The Audio Visual & Residential IT support Assistant will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining AV equipment, and supporting residential IT needs, particularly internet access, during evenings and weekends.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Set up, operate, and maintain audio equipment for school events, including meetings, performances, and presentations.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to integrate audio systems with existing technology infrastructure.
  • Work closely with academic teams to understand and meet specific audio requirements for educational activities.
  • Attend event planning meetings to assess audio needs and provide recommendations based on event type and audience size.
  • Conduct pre-event sound checks to ensure all equipment is functioning properly and meets the needs of presenters and performers.
  • Offer technical support during events to assist users in navigating audio systems.
  • Coordinate repairs or replacements as needed.
  • Assist students and staff with internet access issues during weekday evenings and weekends.

The requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Audio Engineering, Music Production, or a related field.
  • Strong technical skills with a solid understanding of sound design principles.
  • Experience dealing with various audio equipment.
  • Effective communication skills.
