Industry: Non-Profit Organization – School

Reporting to: Directors

Salary: 70,000 Kshs

Our client is a Christian non-profit organization that runs a well-established school and is seeking an experienced Facility and Operations Supervisor who shall be responsible for overseeing and optimizing daily operational activities in the areas of transportation, kitchen, procurement, and facilities. This role ensures that all functions are executed efficiently, cost-effectively, and in alignment with company standards and policies. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a focus on quality and safety, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the logistics and coordination of transportation, ensuring timely and efficient service.
  • Manage transportation schedules, routes, and fleet maintenance to optimize operational efficiency.
  • Monitor and control transportation budgets, identifying opportunities for cost savings.
  • Ensure smooth operations of the kitchen, focusing on quality control, food safety, and efficiency.
  • Work closely with kitchen staff to maintain high standards of hygiene, food quality, and inventory management.
  • Coordinate with procurement for timely and accurate food supply and ingredient sourcing.
  • Address any kitchen operational challenges, including equipment maintenance and staffing needs.
  • Oversee procurement activities, ensuring timely and cost-effective sourcing of supplies, equipment, and services.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure quality and reliability.
  • Implement and monitor inventory management processes to prevent shortages and reduce waste.
  • Conduct regular audits of procurement practices and suggest improvements.
  • Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of facilities, ensuring a safe, clean, and functional environment.
  • Coordinate with maintenance staff or external contractors for repairs, upgrades, and routine maintenance.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations in all facilities.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Operations Management, or related field.
  • Minimum of 4 – 5 years’ experience in school operations management with a focus on transportation, kitchen, procurement, and/or facilities.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and experience with operations management software is a plus.
