Job Description
- Our Client, a leading provider of transport and logistics solutions seeks to recruit a HR Assistant.
- The Job holder will be responsible for various functions including recruitment, employee relations, and performance management while ensuring compliance with labor laws and coordinating with business leaders to align HR practices with organizational goals
Key Responsibilities
- Drafting routine correspondence and initiating process for the preparation of all staff support documentation. (Salary adjustments, bank introduction letters, internal memos, promotion and transfer letters).
- Support the resolution of employee issues and grievances; assist in developing and implementing employee relations programs.
- Assist in implementing performance management processes, support the development of performance review systems and help monitor and evaluate employee performance.
- Maintaining daily staff attendance and taking corrective action to ensure minimal interruption of services.
- Identify and coordinate training and development opportunities, organize staff trainings including NITA reimbursement, workshops and activities and co-ordinate external training sessions including evaluating training effectiveness.
- Manage/develop welfare and wellness programs and practices including employee health and safety in line with OSHA, welfare committee activities, Pension schemes, Personal insurance covers among others.
- Recruitment- Short listing, interviews, induction, placement and maintenance of employee files.
- Preparation of Payroll data; overtimes, arrears, new hires
- Auditing of employees files to ensure all necessary documents are intact and licenses where applicable are up to date (renewed).
- Performing other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related field from a recognized institution.
- Diploma/ Higher Diploma in Human Resource Management
- At least 3 years relevant experience in a similar role.
- Excellence interpersonal skills, with a strong ability to resolve disputes
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of legal and operational aspects of personnel administration and labour relations
- Good at problem solving; able to find creative and pragmatic solutions
- Proficient with MS Word and Excel, as well as with HR Software.
