The Housekeeping Supervisor oversees the cleanliness, organization, and maintenance of guest rooms, staff housing, offices, and public areas. This role ensures that all areas meet high cleanliness standards, coordinates the housekeeping team, and maintains inventory and supplies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervision of Housekeeping Staff
- Lead, train, and supervise housekeeping team members, including room attendants, public area cleaners, and housing attendants.
- Ensure all team members understand their roles, follow cleaning procedures, and adhere to safety protocols.
- Conduct daily briefings to communicate tasks, any special instructions, and performance expectations.
- Inspection and Quality Assurance
- Perform regular inspections of guest rooms, staff housing, offices, and public areas to ensure high standards of cleanliness and presentation.
- Address any deficiencies immediately, ensuring that corrective actions are taken by the housekeeping team.
- Maintain a record of inspections and report any recurring issues to the Housekeeping Manager.
- Cleaning and Maintenance Coordination
- Develop and manage cleaning schedules for all assigned areas, ensuring a systematic rotation of deep cleaning.
- Collaborate with the maintenance team to identify and address any repair or maintenance needs.
- Ensure the proper handling, storage, and usage of cleaning chemicals and equipment in compliance with safety guidelines.
- Inventory and Supplies Management
- Monitor and maintain adequate stock levels of cleaning supplies, amenities, and linens.
- Coordinate orders for housekeeping supplies and manage inventory efficiently.
- Implement cost-control measures to minimize waste and avoid overstocking.
- Guest Service and Engagement
- Respond to guest requests, ensuring prompt, courteous, and effective service.
- Address any housekeeping-related guest complaints and escalate issues when necessary to the Housekeeping Manager.
- Support a welcoming and professional atmosphere in all public and guest areas.
- Health and Safety Compliance
- Ensure all cleaning procedures and materials comply with safety and hygiene standards.
- Conduct regular training for the housekeeping team on health and safety protocols, including the proper use of cleaning equipment and handling of chemicals.
- Report any safety hazards or accidents in a timely manner, taking immediate action when necessary.

Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum of 2-3 years of supervisory experience in a similar housekeeping role, preferably in hospitality.
- Knowledge of housekeeping processes, techniques, and equipment.
- Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities.
- Basic knowledge of health and safety regulations related to housekeeping.
Working Conditions:
- Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
- Physically able to handle tasks that require standing, lifting, and moving around the property.
