POSITION SUMMARY:
The Resettlement Intake Associate will be expected to contribute towards meeting the departmental goals, promoting resettlement as a durable solution for the most at-risk refugee populations by performing the following tasks.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Prepare individual comprehensive physical case files for clients, complete intake forms, and ensure proper filing of individual case files for resettlement consideration.
- Prepare monthly updates of cases referred for resettlement consideration to external partners
- Conduct individual counseling for clients under resettlement consideration
- Maintain case entries in the Case Management System (CMS) for cases under resettlement consideration.
- Fill in various resettlement submission forms.
- Support in the development of Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials related to resettlement
- Present cases for deliberation at the Resettlement Multi-functional Case Review Panel and record the discussions and determinations
- Conduct child-friendly interviews in line with Best Interest Procedures (BIP)
- Prepare Best Interest Assessment (BIA) reports
- Prepare Best Interest Determination (BID) reports and present them to BID panels
- Prepare project reports.
- Perform other duties as and when required.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
- University Degree in Law, International Studies, and/or related studies.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of professional experience in working in a refugee-related context or in an NGO-related context. Refugee Resettlement experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of international legal framework governing refugees, human rights/human rights law preferred
- Knowledge of Best Interest Procedures (BIP) is preferred
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent interviewing and counseling skills and ability to interact with refugee populations,
- Strong interpersonal and diplomacy skills.
- Strong advocacy and research skills.
- Knowledge in Accountability to Affected Populations
- Knowledge of PSEA.
