Job Description

Description

If precision and hands-on work define you, we need you as our Mechanical Fitter. Just like a wrench tightening every bolt with precision and strength, your role as a Mechanical Fitter will be crucial in assembling, maintaining, and repairing the mechanical systems that power our operations. Your skills will ensure that all parts come together seamlessly, keeping everything running smoothly and efficiently.

Based in Kenya, Menengai 35MW Geothermal Power Plant and reporting to the Mechanical Supervisor, you will play an essential role in ensuring our mechanical systems are installed and maintained to the highest standards, contributing to the success of our projects.

Key responsibilities

Operational Management

  • Analyzing the blueprints for mechanical systems to determine the specifications of the components to be constructed.
  • Constructing structural components from raw materials.
  • Inspecting fabricated components to ensure that they are the correct size.
  • Installation of mechanical parts like structure, rotating and stationary equipment as per the procedure in a good manner.
  • Achieving daily targets of work and weekly work plan with tools and tackles.
  • Daily work briefing to work mates and ensuring hose keeping every day.
  • Adhering to all work site safety rules and regulation

Planning 

  • Tools and tackles arrangement store and report damage tools/required tools if any for future work

People and Relationship Management

  • Instil a one family culture and be an ambassador for business vision, mission and values

Budget Management 

  • Take care of all site tools and tackles and PPE

HSEQ 

  • Follow HSEQ Procedure all times

Compliance 

  • Company policies and standard operating procedures
  • All relevant laws and regulations

Perform any other duties assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Education/Qualification: NITA/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
  • Work Experience: 5-10 Years of Experience
  • IT Skills: Basic
  • Language: Fluent in written and spoken English and Kiswahili

Key Competencies and Skills:

  • Ability to use hand and power tools
  • Ability to understand technical drawings and plans
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Awareness of health and safety protocols
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Work experience in a geothermal power plant for mechanical work
