Job Description

 

  • We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a leading hospital located in Embu, Kenya. They are seeking an experienced and highly organized professional to join their team as an Accountant on a contract basis. This is an on-site role, and the ideal candidate will be required to relocate to Embu for the duration of the contract.
  • The initial contract is for a period of three (3) months, with the possibility of renewal up to one year, subject to performance and mutual agreement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support in preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Support variance analysis by comparing actual results with budgeted figures and providing explanations for differences.
  • Manage accounts receivable, including invoicing, collections, and follow-up on outstanding payments.
  • Assist in monitoring cash flow and maintaining cash controls
  • Record and process financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
  • Perform regular reconciliations of bank accounts, vendor statements, and other balance sheet accounts.
  • Prepare and post journal entries accurately and timely.
  • Process vendor invoices and ensure timely payments to suppliers.
  • Provide support during internal and external audits by preparing documentation and responding to audit inquiries.
  • Coordination and preparation of monthly payroll
  • Preparation and filling of statutory returns

Skills and Qualifications Required

  • A Business related degree or the equivalent combination of education training and work experience.
  • A Minimum of at least 4-6 years’ experience in the healthcare industry is required as well as one or more relevant professional certifications or pursuing completion of the professional courses (i.e. CPA, ACCA)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
  • Proficiency in financial management software
