As a recruiter I see the other side of that process, and honestly, the effort candidates put in before a single interview is something most people never notice.
A few things I remind myself constantly: Reply even when the answer is no. Be the recruiter you'd want to have.
And for candidates reading this: please don't measure your worth by response rates. That silence is not a reflection of your value.
And if you're a recruiter reading this: close the loop. It costs nothing and means everything.
