Police in Ebwambwa area, Kakamega County have rescued a 58-year-old woman from an angry mob after her son's mysterious death.
According to reports, Eunice Andanje engaged in a wrangle with his 32-year-old son Ezekiel Munanga over a 2kg packet of maize after which he passed on.
Confirming the incident, area chief Fanuel Lumumba said that Andanje is believed to have attacked her son with a blunt object when she was drunk.
Chief Lumumba added that the woman, who is a known chang'aa brewer, is known to have engaged in a series of squabbles with her son.
Munanga's decomposing body was found inside his house as police officers apprehended Andanje for questioning.
Meanwhile, the body of the deceased has been taken to Kakamega Morgue awaiting autopsy.
