Langa'ata Member of Parliament Phelix Odiwuor alias Jalang'o has said he was called by President William Ruto for a meeting at State House on Tuesday.
Speaking during an interview with Spice FM, Jalang'o said the invited parties did not discuss politics but development projects in his constituency.
"When the President was visiting my area for the first time for the affordable housing project, I called my party leader, and Baba told me, if it's anything development, go ahead, and be part of it," he said.
Jalang'o also said ODM Leader Raila Odinga has given party members a key to work with Ruto matters development.
"I was trending at number one yesterday, yet we were nine MPs there, the team present followed up on every single project Ruto had promised the people of Nyanza," he said.
Taking to his Twitter on Tuesday after the meeting, Jalang'o said he was following up on the affordable housing in the Highrise ward.
“Today, we had breakfast with the President, I followed up on the Start date of the construction of affordable housing in the Highrise ward and the completion of the Langata TVET,” he said.
The meeting received backlash from his party, with the director of communications Philip Etale saying that the meeting by the MPs was no surprise for them.
"The party has been monitoring closely the behind-the-scenes activities involving some of them and today was just the climax," he said in a statement.
