Sigona's resident professional and coach CJ Wangai has attributed the club's win at the coveted 98th Tannahill Shield to strategy and level-headedness.
Sigona bagged 47 points after winning 22 matches of the 32 games at the Par 72 Royal Nairobi Golf Club course.
Wangai, who is also the chairman of the Professional Golfers of Kenya, remarked: "It's been a long journey full of ups and downs but I believe intensive training and tactful pairing of players saw them through."
Mombasa settled for the second spot on 40 points with 18 wins out of the 32 matches. Western and 2022 champions Muthaiga took third and fourth places on 36 points apiece.
Muthaiga, who have dominated the tournament in recent years, were looking for a consecutive three-peat in the contest but their antics were contained by the trailblazing opponents.
It is such a great feeling to emerge as the winner. here at Royal, last year we came sixth, we went to the drawing board and put our house in order," Sigona resident pro-C.J Wangai continued.
"We had good chemistry in the team that was selected to represent Sigona here. We also got our players pairing in order and this played to our advantage," added Wangai.
Ahead of the tournament, Sigona started their preparations in January.
Wangai, who is also doubling as the team coach, says he had a pool of 20 players who were training on Fridays and Saturdays as early as January this year.
"In mid-February, I selected the best ten out of the 20. Then we embarked on very intense training every Wednesday at our base in Sigona."
At the same time, Muthaiga scored 272 and 267 points in rounds one and two to lift the junior category that was also contested at Royal.
Karen (280, 270) were second while third place went to last year's runners-up Royal (285, 282) and Western (287, 290) bagged fourth place.
