Ugreen has launched the FineTrack 2, an Apple Find My-compatible tracker with a unique soccer ball design. Inspired by major football tournaments, this tracker is larger than an AirTag but offers impressive battery longevity. Available now for $19.99, the FineTrack 2 is waterproof and designed to hang from keys or bags, though its size limits discreet concealment.
The FineTrack 2 packs a 600mAh CR2450 battery that lasts five to seven years with Apple’s Find My network. However, the battery is non-replaceable, meaning the entire device becomes e-waste once depleted. In contrast, an AirTag’s battery lasts about a year but is user-replaceable.
Alongside the FineTrack 2, Ugreen introduced the FineTrack Mini 2. This version offers identical battery life and waterproofing but features a smaller, more discreet design. It includes a loud 110dB alarm and is sold only in four-packs for $45.99.
Both trackers share non-replaceable batteries, making them less sustainable than alternatives like AirTags. However, their extended battery life reduces the frequency of replacement.
For users prioritizing long battery life over repairability, the FineTrack 2 is a solid choice. Its soccer ball design adds a fun aesthetic, but the e-waste concern is significant. Consider your needs for sustainability versus convenience before purchasing.
